Charity Tax Group: Volunteer PR/Communications Adviser Opportunity

The Charity Tax Group (CTG) was set up to make representations to Government on charity taxation and is the leading voice for the sector on tax. It has over 800 charity and professional members. CTG’s work is overseen by a volunteer Board with support from a paid Secretariat. CTG is funded primarily by members’ donations and subscription. It is a small organisation with no full time staff that nonetheless has a significant impact across the whole charity sector.

The role

CTG is in a critical but exciting phase of its development as it responds to the shifting challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Members have told us:

“You’ve been our right arm during Covid on anything charity tax and finance related. Your support & engagement is exceptional. I could only dream of creating the speedy concise briefings that you do.  Please organisations donate to Charity Tax Group and keep them viable”

“CTG is a class act and has been publishing some clear first class information at a time when there are many spinning plates and lots of fog! Good job!”

CTG is seeking someone PR experience to help advise on how it can maximise the impact of its communications. This is a voluntary role that is expected to initially require one to two hours per week including attendance at monthly one-hour CTG Board meetings. Meetings are currently taking place in a virtual format, but there may be occasional requirements to attend meetings in London in the longer term.

This is an opportunity to help make a real impact on the development of a core charity issue and maximise the external effectiveness of this highly respected charity sector body.
