GASDS review – summary of responses

HMRC has published a summary of responses given to the consultation on simplifying the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GASDS), which closed on 1 July 2016. The summary also sets out the Government’s proposed actions, which include removing both the two-year eligibility rule and the Gift Aid history requirement entirely and including contactless payments within GASDS. Gift Aid and intermediaries – consultation

HMRC has published a technical consultation on proposed regulations to give intermediaries, operating within the charity sector, a greater role in administering Gift Aid. The measure is designed to make it easier for a donor to use digital platforms, including text giving, to give to multiple charities by giving the intermediary authorisation to complete declarations on the donor’s behalf for the rest of the tax year.
