There are a number of Vehicle Excise Duty reliefs which are used by charities including but not limited to vehicles for disabled people, ambulances, mine rescue vehicles, and lifeboat vehicles. As announced at Budget 2025, the government will introduce legislation to add search and rescue vehicles from the VED reliefs from April 2027.
