Charity Tax Group (CTG) offers one-year funded membership contributions to London based charities

The City Bridge Trust has provided funding to enable CTG to engage, support and represent charitable organisations in London on fiscal and tax matters.

The Charity Tax Group (CTG) helps charities navigate the tax maze and has played a key role in supporting the sector during the pandemic. With the future of the economy uncertain the sector needs CTG’s voice more than ever to represent its interests.

To equip charities deal with the key tax issues they face CTG members receive monthly and weekly newsletters. CTG also provides training through its free online expert insight events on charity tax issues of the day.  These have included Gift Aid, business rates, VAT, payroll giving and employment taxes. Members can also get involved with our Gift Aid and VAT practical issues working groups.  These groups help charity finance professionals share their experiences with their peers.

Ongoing access to the CTG website provides a wealth of simple to understand guidance on charity tax issues.

All Charities benefit from CTG’s work. It has saved the sector billions of pounds over the last 40 years. Charities actively involved in its work recognise its impact.  As an example:

“You were our right arm during Covid on anything charity tax and finance related. Your support & engagement was exceptional. I could only dream of creating the speedy concise briefings that you do. Please organisations donate to Charity Tax Group and keep them viable”. Cate Atwater – (then) Chief Executive, Community Leisure UK

But awareness of what CTG offers charities remains low. This is particularly the case for smaller charities.

The City Bridge Trust recognises the value of CTG’s work.  It has provided funding for a charity’s first contribution towards CTG’s work (in 2022). The amount of the contribution depends on the size of the organisation.

This opportunity is for charities based in London. We believe that after a year of benefiting from the work of CTG, both directly for their charity and for the wider charity sector, they will want to commit to supporting CTG into the future through becoming a member.

The number of funded memberships is limited. London based charities can register for their funded membership subscription here.
