The Royal Mint is assisting HM Treasury in the introduction of the new 12-sided £1 coin, from April 2017. One of the key elements of the project is ensuring that industry stakeholders are ready for the launch. This will be important for all charities handling cash, including for fundraising and retail purposes.

The Royal Mint launched a consultation that will track and assess the level of industry readiness for the launch of the new coin. Responses received will be used to inform the Royal Mint’s communication activities and planning for the new coin. This consultation has now closed.
