Since 1982, CTG has put the case for charities to eleven Chancellors of the Exchequer and almost thirty Charity Tax Ministers at the Treasury – and we have met almost all of them.

Conservatively, we calculate that CTG has saved the sector over £10 billion, mainly by persuading Governments not to take measures to impose additional tax on the sector. But we also know that there is much more work to do.

Here, we take a look at some of the landmarks and key successes of the last 40 years, which we have achieved alongside and on behalf of the charity sector.
